12/15 update

Huge reminder that our Telluride regional opens for registration at 6pm Saturday night.  Please make sure you have your IFSA memberships bought and paid for well in advance of this.  Make sure you have your login details together, you will need them.  Test it out tonight/tomorrow morning etc.  While it is our home event, we do not handle registration so this is on YOU to get yourself/your athlete registered.  www.rockymountainfreerideseries.com and www.freeskiers.org for info.  Rumor on the street is that 250 kids tried to register for CB national in the first 2 minutes.

We have spots reserved at Silverton for Friday Jan. 4th.  This is for aggressive/older athletes.  Cost will be about 180 a person, including lift ticket, guide, coaching (we will work on carpooling as things come together more).  You will need full avalanche gear, which can be rented there, but better to bring your own.  Please let me know asap if you would like to come, its great way to get polished up in serious terrain before we start competing.  In years past we have made up some family style lunches to bring with us…. often times heating up chili or soup in the parking lot for a nice hearty warm meal between some great laps.  Fun times for sure, and parents, I more or less guarantee real worn out kids when we are done for the day

Since we are at maximum number of athletes for the year, I am changing up the way groups work a bit.  Instead of 6 individual groups, we are going to function a bit differently.  More or less the youngest will meet up and get split between Patti and Emma.  The middle age groups will meet together and get split between Connor, Orion and Heather.  The oldest group will do the same and get divided between Colby, Scott and sometimes myself.  This ensures more even group sizes week in and week out, a more unified team feeling, and meeting/skiing with new friends.  I know there are some athlete pairings that don’t work too well and we can avoid those on a daily basis.  I am attaching the basic break down.  All this being said, Colby is going to take Conno’r group this week, and Heather will be working with the same few girls she had last Saturday afternoon.

Cheers and see you tomorrow… Oh yeah by the way, we get 5 new lifts to play with tomorrow if you haven’t heard. 7,8,9,12 and 14…..Sick!!!! Just remember it’s still early out there…. I know my skis look pretty rough from the past few days, but better skis than some bruised up body parts… keep things in check!
