Hugh Kenworthy

Rec Squad Director

Hugh moved to Telluride from England at age 10, never imagining how much these mountains would shape his life. Never having skied, he joined the race team to learn the fundamentals, then found his home on the freestyle team, where great coaches and teammates sparked a lifelong love of the sport. That passion led him into big-mountain freeride competition and the backcountry.
After high school, Hugh served in the Marine Corps, graduated from boot camp as the company honor man, and earned multiple meritorious promotions on his way to Sergeant. He later earned a degree in integrative physiology and holds a Youth Fitness Specialist certification from the
American College of Sports Medicine. He’s a NOLS Wilderness First Responder and owns Telluride Rolfing, a Structural Integration practice that helps clients move better, recover faster, and stay healthy.
Hugh brings this unique skill set to coaching. After several seasons coaching in TSSC’s gravity program, he now serves as Director of the All-Mountain non-competitive team, where he focuses on building strong, resilient, and confident skiers. His ethos is simple: keep athletes safe, keep it fun, and inspire a lifelong passion for skiing.
Off the snow, Hugh loves spending time with his family, adventuring in the mountains, exploring the Desert Southwest, and coaching youth soccer.
