22 Dec Team Gravity Coach of the Week: Vivi Tutt

This year will be my 6th year coaching for TSSC.
It has been so much fun to be part of Team Gravity and to see that the young athletes that started in my group years ago are now racing or competing in different disciplines.
I grew up in France and moved to Chamonix in my twenties. Spending much time up on the mountain slopes, skiing in Italy and Switzerland taught me to be respectful of the mountain and the conditions there.
My husband and I worked for the ski movie industry , spending every day on skis filming or shooting beautiful sequences.
We worked with Dean Cummings, Chris Davenport, Hilaree Nelson, Wendy Fisher, Shane McConkey, Candide Thovex, Gordy Peifer, and more.
I am the mother of a beautiful 13 year old, Selma, and I feel like it is more important to be there for her everyday rather than spending all my time on the road filming.
My coaching philosophy?
I coach my young athletes to be safe on the mountain, to be respectful of others and to be good ambassadors of our ski area.
Early years are learning years.
A great quote from Ezra Duister :
” The essence of my coaching philosophy is based on long term development of athletes in their technique, tactics, mental approach and satisfaction in learning new skills or enhance existing skills. “
I have completed the Heads up Concussion Training for Youth Sports Coaches.
