10 Jan Big Mt Jr Coach of the Week: Matt Williamson

I grew up skiing Purgatory and Wolf Creek, started instructing children’s ski school my sophomore year in HS, moved to Telluride in ’94 where I was hired as a ski instructor for children’s ski school.  After 5 yrs of instructing here, I decided I wanted to free ski and competed in some big mountain contests.  I ski traveled to Alaska, British Columbia, Western U.S. and Europe.  I also worked as a ski patroller in Silverton for a few years before they even had a chairlift.  This is my third year coaching for TSSC. I live in Ophir with my wife, Ashley, and 2 daughters, Lillie Pearl and Minnie.

Matt is a USSA licensed coach and SafeSport certified.
