FreeSki (Park) Update

Good afternoon skiers and parents,

We would like to remind you that we will be having a preliminary athlete meeting this Monday, November 5th at 5 PM. At this meeting our skiers will have an opportunity to meet some of our new coaches and express their goals for the upcoming season. This is also a great time to get updated on some of our early season training trips. The first of these training camps will be on the weekend of November 17th and 18th, when we will be attending the Woodward Copper Barn Bash. This event offers free training sessions at a world class extreme sports facility, with live music and professional athletes present. The next day we will either return to Woodward or enjoy Copper Mountain’s first Sunday of the ski season. Cost for this trip will be based on number of athletes attending. Reminder athletes must be 12yrs or older to travel with the team.
The following weekend we will be headed to Aspen Snowmass, on November 23rd, for the Thanks Jibbing Rail Jam. Additionally, we will hopefully round out the weekend with airbag training at the Aspen Valley Ski Club.
In regards to local events, there will be a rail jam held at the base of the gondola in town on November 10th. This has been designed as a low pressure, fun opportunity for our skiers to get back on snow and sharpen their rail/box skills. We highly encourage any of the athletes on our freeski team to participate. Please check the TSSC website for additional updates as we do our best to keep you all in the loop. This is going to be an exceptionally exciting season, we will be working closely with the Telluride Terrain Park’s new director, and veteran ski coach, Hannah Smith, to build the safest, most progressive slopestyle training course possible. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Dry land training continues M,W,TH 3:30-4:45, T, 2:30-3:45. All Freeski athletes welcome to join as their schedules allow.
