Gravity Coach of the Week: Mia McLaughlin

Mia was born and raised in Telluride, CO being put on skis before she can even remember. She began ski racing with TSSC at the age of 6 and continued with the sport through her junior year of high school where she blew out her knee playing lacrosse and was unable to race her senior year. While her ski racing ended there, her skiing career in general only continued to grow. She attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and became heavily involved in crew/rowing as a NCAA athlete. She helped her school to win their first nation-wide victory with a women’s crew. During college, Mia skied in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest and found her love for skiing in the backcountry and mountaineering. Mia most recently was an adventure travel guide for a company called G Adventures where she led groups of international travelers around the USA sharing her love for the outdoors. Prior to that, she worked at a prestigious country club in Oregon as the Assistant Director of Catering. Currently, she works full time at the Fairmont Heritage Place, Franz Klammer Lodge as the Talent & Culture Manager. She is very excited to be back coaching for the Apline program for her third year.  Mia loves being able to share a sport she is so passionate about and considers a lifestyle with those learning to love it as well.
