30 Oct Welcome to the new season, parent orientation meeting 11/5

With the weather certainly acting like winter these past few days, it can only mean one thing….. Ski season is a few short weeks away, with Ski Club starting shortly after that.  For those that have not meet me, let me introduce myself.  My name is Ryan Van Nuys and I am the director of Moguls, Park and Freeride(Big Mountain) for Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club.     I am looking forward to working with everyone to increase their stoke on skiing, and pursuing whatever their goals are for the season.

One of my main goals for the season is clear and orgainzied communication with athletes and parents.  To kick things off on the right foot, we are holding an orientation meeting for all freeride/freestyle/freeski parents this coming Tuesday(11/5) at 5:30pm.  Location is the team headquarters, located at the base of chair 7.   The meeting will offer a quick overview of what to expect from team, what a typical day looks like, what comps are available etc.  This will also be a chance to meet much of the coaching staff, although I will not yet have individual groups split up and asigned.  With many competition sign ups starting well before we actually get on snow with athletes, its very important to start to form a plan now for a succesfull season.
