The TSSC Junior Nordic Team offers programming for development, competitive and recreational skiers.

Devo Practice Days: Monday and Thursday (Saturdays by request)Ages: 3rd-6th GradeDates: December 8, 2025 – March 2, 2026/div>
Time: 3:30-5:15 pmHoliday Practices: Practices will be held over our Holiday Break at 9 am at Priest Lake on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings for all teamsCost: $600The development team will focus on technique and skill development through stations, games, individual instruction, and adventure skis. Practices will be held in Town Park and on the Valley Floor. All skiers will be encouraged to compete in the Butch Cassidy on Feb. 14, 2026 at Priest Lake and other citizen races in Pagosa Springs, Crested Butte, and Durango. These races are a lot of fun, support the growing nordic community and give parents a chance to participate too. We will work with any athlete that wants to practice more, or have more opportunities to race.• January Pagosa Springs Biathlon (Date TBD)

We love that we have so many 7-12 grade kids that love Nordic skiing, weather they choose to race or not. We now have a program that serves everyone from those that are more recreational to those that are highly competitive. There are two tracks available: Core and Comp.

Nordic skiing is a life long sport and we want to foster that amongst our athletes. These athletes will be able to set their goals and have a say in what we do at practices. They will spend part of practice with the Comp team as one bigger middle school and high school team. We will be trying to go up to trails in Mountain Village, Trout Lake, or Priest Lake at least one day a week. Transportation will be provided. These skiers are also invited to a Thanksgiving camp in Crested Butte.• Nov. 27-30 Thanksgiving Camp in Crested Butte

Comp Practice Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, SaturdayAges: 7-12th Grade (Younger kids interested in racing can join by request)Dates: November 3rd, 2025 – March 5th, 2026Time: 3:30-5:15 (Days that we go up to the pass will be closer to 6:00 pm)Holiday Practices: Practices will be held over our Holiday Break at 9 am at Priest Lake on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings for all teamsCost: $1000 (plus additional fees for races, and fall training)Eligible to train with Nordic during middle school and high school ski PE.The Comp team will focus on the endurance, strength, and technique needed to compete in JNQs. Racing at the JNQ races is encouraged but not required. These athletes need more time on a variety of terrain so they will be on trails in Mountain Village, Trout Lake, or Priest Lake two times during the week and many Saturdays.
Below are the dates for the Rocky Mountain Division JNQ races in 2025-2026, the Thanksgiving Camp, and additional races. Some hotel rooms have been reserved and we hope to offer team transportation as much as possible. The races are fun events where racers of all abilities are supported and team bonding is encouraged. While the competition level is high, all the teams across the state have skiers at a variety of experience and ability.• Nov. 23-30 Thanksgiving Camp
